Near the end of Jesus’ ministry on earth, He told His disciples that the time was coming when He would not be with them. He said, "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever—the Spirit of truth" (John 14:16–17). Jesus was speaking of the Holy Spirit. In this course, author William Farrand will acquaint you with the ways the Holy Spirit helps you, in the same way that Jesus helped people when He was here on earth.

The Holy Spirit is a complete Person. Because He is a complete Person, we can have a person-to-Person relationship with Him that is totally satisfying; one that will meet our deepest needs and prepare us for our place in the kingdom of God. In this lesson we will explore scriptural evidences of the personality of the Holy Spirit and what they mean.

The Holy Spirit is a divine Person, the third member of the Trinity, worthy of our honor and obedience. He is a divine Person who longs to minister in our lives daily, conforming us into the image of the Son and leading us into service for Him. The Holy Spirit never draws attention to Himself; He always points us to our Savior, Jesus Christ.

In this lesson we will study ways that He helps us, through conviction, regeneration, teaching, and counseling. Open your heart as you study, and let the Holy Spirit be your personal Helper.

The earth, the heavens, and all that dwells in them are the handiwork of a divine Creator. It was by the power of the Holy Spirit that the spoken word of God was put into effect. Our divine, personal Friend was there when the world was formed, and He is still active in our lives today in creative power.

In this lesson we will see the work of the Holy Spirit in bringing us the written Word, in anointing the Living Word, and in making us living Epistles. Today the Holy Spirit communicates God’s message through you and me, and we are responsible to pass it on to others.

The Holy Spirit regenerates us, and through Him we have the power to be everything that God wants us to be! He is the Spirit of Life who gives us eternal life and makes us joint heirs with our Savior, Jesus Christ.

In this lesson you will learn that when the Holy Spirit comes into your life in baptismal fullness, He will help you to be an effective worker in the kingdom of God. The same power that was available to Old Testament men of God and New Testament disciples is available for you today!

Because the Holy Spirit is within us, we desire to worship Jesus and live for Him until that day comes. What a privilege we have to glorify the One who gave Himself for us that we might have eternal life! He has given us the power to worship Him through the Holy Spirit, the living water that dwells within us!

In this lesson we will briefly study the gifts of the Spirit and ways they reveal the power of Jesus to His church and, through it, to the world.

In this final lesson we consider the character traits of a true follower of Jesus, and how these are developed in the believer by the indwelling Holy Spirit. The apostle Paul calls them the fruit of the Spirit.
